Introducing DieGARD
The latest talent from Spain, joining the 989 Records family!
He was born in Cuba in 2005, a country with a rich and vibrant musical heritage. From an early age, he developed a deep passion for music thanks to his father, who introduced him to iconic artists such as Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Eric Clapton, Toto, and many others. His father’s influence shaped his musical taste and sparked the curiosity that still drives him today.
The first electronic tracks that truly captivated him were Push the Limits by Enigma and Samb-Adagio by Safri Duo, songs that made him fall in love with electronic music at a very young age. Around the age of nine, he began experimenting with loops and samples using GarageBand on an iPad. The moment he realized he wanted to create music and dive into the world of production and DJing came after watching the film We Are Your Friends.
A few years later, he started learning piano, which remains his main instrument. He produced his first tracks in GarageBand, inspired by the tropical house sound of Kygo, one of his earliest and most influential musical idols. Eventually, he transitioned to a more advanced DAW on his computer, taking his production to a more serious and professional level.
He has drawn inspiration from artists such as Kygo, Monolink, ZHU, Yuksek, Lost Frequencies, and Rosbeh.
Most recently, he released his debut single “Back to Life” in collaboration with 989 Records, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his musical journey.
